Welcome
From
its inception in 1982, the Local Technical Assistance
Program (LTAP) has grown nationwide to a program consisting
of 58 individual centers. These centers develop and deliver
training manuals, computer programs, videotapes, and other tools
to assist local highway agencies. Texas LTAP's goal since then
has been to improve rural roads and bridges through technical
assistance and training geared toward local government officials
with the main focus on small towns, cities and counties with
populations under 50,000 people.
At the homepage of the Texas Local Technical Assistance Program, you have access to many of our most popular resources including:
The Texas Association of County Engineers and Road Administrators
TACERA, assisted by the LTAP center, strives to provide the latest information on issues currently affecting the operations of their members and other local county officials concerned with transportation matters.
Lone Star Roads Newsletter
Lone Star Roads, LTAP's newsletter, is designed to translate
into understandable terms the best available technologies in
the areas of roads, bridges and public transportation for city
and county highway and transportation personnel.

Texas LTAP is co-sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration.
